PBS GROUP, a leading advanced engineering and jet engine manufacturer, has announced a strategic partnership with Lockheed Martin. This collaboration, involving the PBS-ONE3D-HiLASE consortium, aims to develop an innovative manufacturing process for a critical component of the F-35 aircraft. This partnership underscores PBS GROUP’s commitment to cutting-edge technology and its role in the aerospace industry’s evolution.

Groundbreaking Partnership and Project Overview: PBS GROUP, renowned for its advancements in jet engine technology, is spearheading a consortium with PBS-ONE3D-HiLASE in collaboration with Lockheed Martin. This significant agreement focuses on creating an alternative manufacturing process for a vital component of the F-35 aircraft. The project is set to leverage state-of-the-art technologies, including additive manufacturing, laser surface enhancement, and advanced vacuum furnace heat treatment.

Achieving success in this endeavor demands not only sophisticated technological expertise but also rigorous certification processes. The PBS-ONE3D-HiLASE consortium is dedicated to achieving full qualification by 2029, with the potential to integrate into Lockheed Martin’s supply chain.
 

Innovative Technologies and Future Prospects: This collaboration represents a pivotal moment in aerospace manufacturing for PBS GROUP, adding to its impressive portfolio which includes small jet engines, APU, and air conditioning systems. The year 2024 has been exceptionally fruitful for PBS, with a projected 30% increase in annual sales driven by heightened demand for versatile jet engines in unmanned aircraft and missile systems.

A major highlight of the year is the launch of the AI-PBS-350 jet engine, which produces 3.4 kN of thrust. Developed in partnership with Ivchenko Progress, this engine was unveiled at the Farnborough International Airshow and is set for its first deliveries next year.
 

Looking ahead, PBS GROUP plans to complete the development of a 2,300N thrust jet engine by next year, further expanding its range of power units suitable for defense applications and various drones. With engines ranging from 400 to 3400 newtons of thrust, PBS remains at the forefront of small jet engine manufacturing.
